Over 75 years ago, Anna Sperandeo Fusco
made a promise to St. Anne that she would
bring pilgrims on an annual pilgrimage to the Ste. Anne de Beaupré Shrine and other Canadian Shrines until her dying day. Anna founded the St. Anne Society of New Haven in 1933 and their first pilgrimage was the next summer in 1934. A determined woman of fervent faith, she kept that promise until her last pilgrimage in July 1969. Her 3 daughters, Anita, Edna and Marion carried on this tradition for another 30 years, conducting fundraisers to enable the needy and handicapped to make this annual pilgrimage.

The seeds of faith had been planted by Anna, and following in her footsteps are her grandchildren who continue today to direct this Anna Fusco Memorial Pilgrimage to the Holy Shrines of Ste. Anne de Beaupré, Notre Dame du Cap, and St. Joseph's Oratory in Montreal.

Each year we are blessed to share devotions with fellow pilgrims for; the Blessed Mother of God, the Virgin Mary, St. Joseph her spouse and foster father of Jesus and Ste.Anne, Jesus' grandmother and mother of the Virgin Mary. We journey together in faith to these 3 Miraculous inspirational and impressive Canadian Shrines.

We are renewed in faith with the many memorable and uplifting spiritual experiences of this pilgrimage. Each shrine with its many faithful pilgrims and unique liturgical devotions deepens your faith and renews your spirit.

Every Way of the Cross, Holy Hour of Adoration, Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and Rosary that is prayed, every sacrament of the Eucharist and Reconciliation celebrated and major relic venerated and every Magnificat and Ave Maria sung at the Candlelight Processions, unites all our pilgrims in faith and brings us closer to sharing in God's divine love.

To participate in these beautiful and memorable devotions is truly an experience and renewal of faith. You will cherish your amazing memories of your spiritual journey when you return home, and share your joyful pilgrimage experiences with others.

Our pilgrims enjoy getting to know each other, and the directors host a "social hour" following the Evening Mass and Candlelight Processions. We gather at the Basilica Inn and the Madonna House to join together for refreshments, fun, (bingo nights) and fellowship. It's these spirited nightly gatherings that also help make our pilgrimage so personal and memorable.
